syngo.via Frontier - Coronary Plaque Analysis

The new research prototype Coronary Plaque Analysis provides advanced tools to analyze atherosclerotic plaque morphology and to characterize different plaque composites, such as lipid and fibrous. This differentiation may have the potential to assess the vulnerability of atherosclerotic lesions and evaluate strategies to stabilize plaque and tailor patient-specific treatment. Furthermore, the prototype allows you to perform volumetric measurements.

Tissue differentiation based on electron density and effective atomic number

syngo.via Frontier - DE Rho/Z Maps

The new research prototype DE Rho/Z Maps provides advanced algorithms that achieve a direct visualization and quantification of electron density. Furthermore, the corresponding effective atomic number can be shown as a colored overlay. This advanced Dual Energy technique may lead to more reliable planning for radiation therapy and may help to reduce overexposure.

Visualization of energy dependencies for analysis of material homogeneity

syngo.via Frontier - DE Scatter Plots

The new research prototype DE Scatter Plots provides a novel representation of Dual Energy information: the energy dependencies of materials shown within an ROI are visualized graphically. Here, the x- and y-axes represent the low and high energies of a scan, respectively, and the pixels contained within the ROI are distributed accordingly. A mathematical fit of the resulting scatter plot and the derived gradient may help the user to classify the underlying materials and to specify the homogeneity. Furthermore, advanced statistical parameters such as variance or skewness allow the user to analyze the materials in greater detail.

syngo.via Frontier - MR Elastic Registration

Image registration is frequently required to align multiple data volumes and increase accuracy in multi-parametric image fusion. However, in some soft-tissue body areas, prone to patient motion, rigid-only registration might not be sufficient.

The MR Elastic Registration prototype is an application for elastic registration, transforming a given set of images to match a reference volume.

syngo.via Frontier - MR Body Diffusion

Diffusion-weighted imaging aims at investigating the functional behavior of tissues. Different models have been proposed to perform the analysis of diffusion-weighted MRI images, each promising distinct advantages for particular body regions.

The MR Body Diffusion prototype provides three state-of-the-art advanced parametric models for DWI analysis:

  • Monoexponential DWI modeling
  • Intravoxel Incoherent Motion (IVIM): bi-exponential modeling based on very low b-values
  • Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging: parabolic modeling based on very high b-values
syngo.via Frontier - Cinematic Rendering

Novel photo-realistic 3D VRT rendering technology based on CT and MR datasets.

Volume rendered images based on CT and MR datasets may be used for patient counseling or surgery planning today. This novel prototype creates photo-realistic 3D images with the help of programmable shaders, enabling cinematic rendering effects, advanced texturing support, including 3D textures translating to a significantly improved level of detail.

The photo-realistic 3D VRT-ranges can be sent back to syngo.via or PACS to enable reuse of CAD data through your organization, to give indications to surgeons or to support anatomy courses with anatomic atlases.
