Peripheral benzodiazepine receptors are located in a number of peripheral tissues and glial cells of the CNS and are linked to a number of disorders including inflammatory lesions, tumors and neurodegenerative disorders. [11C]PK11195 is currently the ligand of choice for investigating PBRs, but has a small specific signal. [18F]MS15 is one of a new generation of potential PBR ligands that are being evaluated (Wilson et al 2007). The aim of this study is to investigate the whole body biodistribution of [18F]MS15 in the rat.
